Born in England, raised in Hong Kong and currently based in Berlin, Ewen Stenhouse was definitely born in the right decade. The 80s proved a fertile training ground for his imagination, with film and cartoons helping to shape an interest in drawing that brings him to where he is now: currently splitting his time as a freelancer between animation, illustration, painting and directing.
While maintaining an ever-expanding range of styles and techniques his work often includes unfunny childish humour and referential nods to the decade of his childhood, and, owing to a background in character animation, are often character based. Having already worked for clients such as Nickelodeon, Channel 4, BBC and Red Bull, he is continually in pursuit of doing better than he did last time which helps keep his work fresh and awesome.
